Bleriot 25
Here are a few pix of my recent project, a 19" Bleriot 25 based on the Don Srull plan. She came in at 13.2 grams. That's a nocal version of Louis Bleriot at the helm, seemingly following the cameraman....almost creepy. Actually, I feel the added vertical area helps with stability.
The motor was made with foam, thread and grass stems. I also used stems for the V supports. The prop is two laminations of 1/32" sheet balsa, then airbrushed with that 'genuine-fake-imitation-laminated' look... All makes for a very light tail.
My first Bleriot 25 went OOS this summer at Rees's Kudzu contest, so I felt the need to build another. She was a marvelous flyer in any weather condition. I usually only flew this bird in the morning during the 'pre-thermalistic' hours, but I lost my head and flew her around 1 PM during a perfect day....I couldn't resist.
