Contact the Team Manager, Bruce Bretschneider, as soon as possible to make sure that you are included in the official list of supporters going to Poland in July. His telephone number is 623-334-4760 and his email is brucebr1@cox.net. The final list of people going to represent the United States has not been submitted as of 31 March 2008, so there’s still time to make it if you wish.
You will need to have a valid US passport. The trip will cost approximately $2500/person including roundtrip air fare ($1250-$1320) from Chicago to Warsaw, Poland, fees, room, and board. You may pay the expenses by credit card or by money order made out to US Team Manager’s Fund.

If you really love scale model aviation, you will enjoy this event. The FAI rules are different from those of the AMA or USSMA. There is only one plane in the air at a time, so there are no worries about mid-airs, however, if you mess up everyone is aware since your plane is the only one flying. Also, everything runs on a schedule which is ironclad, ie, no deviations. If someone finishes early, for whatever reason, the next flyer still goes at his scheduled time. The aircraft are kept in a hangar with 24 hour guards present. You can talk to the various pilots as long as it doesn’t keep them from their flying duties. They all speak English. It’s the language of the air.
