The US Scale Team is comprised of two groups of pilots: 1) Control line or F4B and, 2) radio control or F4C.
The competition, considered by many as the ultimate in international scale modeling, is to model aviation as the Olympics is to sports; right down to the lighting of the flame.
Static and flight judging is conducted to the standards of the FAI by a group of highly qualified multi-national judges. Approximately 65 of the finest pilots from as many as 17 countries of the world join in the competition every two years in a different country. In prior years the competition has been held in Canada, Union of South Africa, Switzerland, Sweden, and the USA.
